in animal handlers or meat products, in cases where there is meningeal involvement is usually the presence of endocarditis or immunocompromised without valvular lesion. We describe the case of a female patient aged 43 who presented meningitis without associated Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae endocarditis and use of intravenous illicit drugs as only risk factor.
