Electrocardiogram interpretation related to anatomic lesion in patients who had an
acute myocardial infarction is ground of an important attention because of the high
mortality and morbidity rates that it represents. Objective. To describe the results of
the electrocardiograph trace by establishing a correlation with the coronary angiography,
in patients with acute myocardial infarction attended between January 2000 and
January 2007, at the Hospital Santa Sofía E.S.E., in Manizales, Caldas, Colombia.
Materials and methods. A retrospective descriptive study was made, based on the
revision of 38 clinical histories, evaluating electrocardiographic and coronary graphic
variables. Results. Of a total of 33 detected patients with arterial diseases detected by
a coronary graphic (13 of previous descendent, 14 the right coronary, 2 of circumflex
and 4 of the right coronary), 18 did not demonstrate specific findings at level of the
EKG, which corresponds to 59, 4% of the total. Conclusions. The findings of this
study are related to the findings in Literature, in special as far as the characterization
of the variables, nevertheless this study is more specific to the correlation for disease
of right coronary artery and previous descendent artery.
