20 clinical reports were revised with neurocisticercosis diagnosis confirmed by clinical manifestation, positive Elisa test on CRL (cefalorraquideal liquid) serum and CAT (computerized axial tomography). These clinical reports came from several health
centers in Manizales (Caldas). The origin was analyzed detecting a prevalent zone in the northern part of the state. Several variables such age, sex, pork meta consumption, information from CRl from Elisa test and radio graphical paraclinical EEG and record of proglotide expulsion, antiparasitarium and anticonvulsive drugs used in this type of patients. A broad discussion of the results is made here, all modern laboratory tests are also analyzed for a prompt detection of this disorder such EIA (enzyme immunoassay) and EITB (enzyme linked inmunoelectrotransfer blot assay) a modification in the classification is proposed and a series of recommendations for the preventive treatment of this zoonosis are presented.
