We report a case of probable COVID-19 reinfection in a healthcare worker. A 50-year-old female patient (from Pereira, Colombia) with a history of dyslipidemia, appendectomy, and hysterectomy, and a penicillin allergy. Tested
positive for COVID-19 on 04/25/2020, with a negative PCR result on 05/06/2020 and subsequent asymptomatic course for 233 days; she was admitted due to general symptoms including asthenia, myalgia, and headache on 12/23/2020; new positive test result on 12/26/2020 with persistent dyspnea and no other relevant findings on physical examination, with adequate clinical course to date. This is considered
a probable COVID-19 reinfection according to WHO guidelines, a case confirmed by the epidemiological criterion of a negative RT-PCR test during the first episode of infection; it may be due to a new COVID-19 variant.
