Objective: to establish a relationship between health management and satisfaction of the elderly patient in Hospital II Tarapoto-EsSalud, Peru. Materials and methods: non-experimental, descriptive and correlational study in the external medicine clinic in Hospital II Tarapoto-EsSalud in the period from january to june 2017. The information was managed and analyzed the dimensions of the variables in the study: health management and satisfaction of the elderly adult patient). Results: the study sample consisted of the total population: 274 patients. The results indicate that 82% of the elderly patients indicate that the level of health management is deficient, 14% as good and 4% as acceptable. Likewise, 74% of the patients indicated that the degree of satisfaction is dissatisfied, 26% feel dissatisfied, and there were no satisfied patients. Finally, it is determined that there is a Spearman correlation coefficient = 0,564 ** it indicates a moderate correlation between the variables. Also, a coefficient of determination of 0,3176 indicates that the patient's satisfaction is greater than 31,7% of the health management of the hospital. Conclusions: the results are based on the management of health currently not focused on meeting the needs of the elderly patient, the reason why it is perceived that there is an adequate quality of care.
