Authorship policy

The Archivos de Medicina (Manizales) journal adheres to the four criteria proposed by the ICMJE for a person to be considered an author, as follows:

1. Substantial contribution to the conception, design of the article or the acquisition, analysis or interpretation of the data; and
2. Drafting of the work or critical revision of the work with important intellectual contribution; and
3. Final approval of the version submitted for publication; and
4. Acceptance of responsibility for all aspects of the work to ensure that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

All authors must meet all four criteria, and all those who meet the criteria should be considered authors. The order of authorship should be agreed upon by all authors before the paper is submitted for publication.  Anyone who participated in the work but does not meet all four criteria should be acknowledged in the acknowledgements section.
