2010 and who have been admitted to the HUV high-risk and Kangaroo Program was analyzed. A correspondence and a cluster analysis were carried out, and secondly, a random coefficient model was fitted. Results: Two well-defined groups of low-weight
neonates were found: those with extremely low weight and those with low weight and very low birth weight. The curves estimated with the model fitted show that neonates who received prenatal control have a relatively higher weight, with slight variations
when compared with curves depicting average weight. Conclusion: Having a model to estimate the evolution curve of the weight of each neonate with low birth weight in the HUV, it is of great advantage for pediatricians because it allows us to observe that
it is so variable it against the curve of the mean weight expected .
