To identify total proteins in saliva of 3% sulfosalicylic acid in an incremental test and determine the correlation with the intensity of exercise. Materials and Methods: This descriptive correlational study, the sample consisted of five professional cyclists, age 23 ± 5 (years). The test was performed on a cycle ergometer, starting with 100 W load increasing in 50 vatios 50 vatios every 2 min until exhaustion. The saliva sample was collected at the rate of charge, a time collected added 2.5 ml of 3% sulfosalicylic
acid and then read in a spectrophotometer. Results: The salivary total protein concentration ranged from 2,7 mg / dl to 41,2 mg / dl during the exercise protocol. But it does not correlate with the intensity of exercise, and a Pearson correlation -0.001 Sig was
obtained. (Bilateral) 0.997> 0,05. The data were processed in SPSS. Conclusions: 3% sulfosalicylic acid detected saliva total proteins from 2.7 mg / dl to 41,2 mg / dl during an incremental test. Furthermore, a significant correlation with the intensity of
the exercise protocol used was found.
