This article is a compilation of the main features of assessment of both acute and chronic wounds that are described in the scientific literature, some frequently used in clinical practice among professionals who treat these patients. Although the focus of these injuries has always been an area of importance for health personnel, striking that today there is no clear consensus on what features should be taken into account at the time of addressing, so that allows its continuous monitoring throughout the healing process.

The aim of this paper is to propose a consensus of characteristics that must be assessed in chronic wounds in general.
