Aneurysms are very common; they develop in the aorta and other arteries, remaining asymptomatically up to the point of very undesirable consequences, such as a thrombosis or its own rupture. A solution has been searched over the years; the trial
includes partial or complete resections or endoaneurysmal replacement with synthetic and expandable parts. Aneurysms are local and irreversible expansions of the artery; they are a result of an abnormal configuration of the artery, altering also the laminar blood current due to the increase of the tensile force over the medium phase of the artery. Aneurysms can be
classified according to their morphology, location or ethiology. The last one can be categorized as follows: due to dissection, trauma, dystrophy, mycosis, aterosclerotic or congenial origin, inflammatory or postoperatory inflammation.
There are also different methods including diagnosis and treatment. In the last ones it is important to highlight the endovascular replacement; which is actually being
evaluated by several American, European and Australian health centers. This interesting procedure has saved the lives of many different patients from aneurysms and their fatal consequences.
