A brief historical summary is done here, dealing with the academic and aid development of Blood Bank in Caldas Hospital. All obvious strengths on the medical staff are presented; all which have demonstrated a very important role. At the same time the
most important obtained Medical Transfusion techniques in the area and around the eje cafetero are related.
