Introduction: The mortality by cardiovascular disease has been the main cause of
death, therefore it is considered of high importance to find out the intrahospital
morbimortality incidence caused by this pathology.
Objectives: The mean objective of the present study is to evaluate the principal risk
factor in the cardiovascular diseases the morbimortality caused by heart attack
Material and Methods: A descriptive and retrospective study was performed in 142
clinical histories form the statistic service of the Hospital San Marcos de Chinchiná;
the patients who were studied presented according to clinical, enzymatic and
electrocardiographic criteria.
Results: In this study a mortality 3% was found; obtaining as result that mate patients
and 60 years old soffered heart attack in more proportion. The high blood pressure was
associated as principal risk factor in the Myocardial Infarction, althought most of patients
had 2 o 3 controllable variables; most of patients had no cpmplication post heart attack
during hospitalisation.
Conclusions: The early application the treatment showed an independent reduction of
the hospital mortality in our study.
