Submissions

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

• Download and carefully read the document Instructions for Authors.
  Complete the submission checklist. If it is not completely filled out, your submission will not be considered for the review process.
  The article has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted to another journal.
  The article must be submitted in Word format, and OLE elements generated by bibliographic reference management programmes must be disabled. Text spacing 1.5 and font size 12 points. Figures and tables should be included in the text in the appropriate place and not at the end of the article. Maximum length 25 pages.
  Include the full names of all authors, academic title, affiliation, city, country, email address, ORCID identifier, CvLAC (for Colombian authors and foreign researchers residing in Colombia).
  References should be cited in Vancouver style.
  At the end of the article, recommend four possible reviewers who are not affiliated with the University of Manizales, with expertise in the subject area, with a level of clinical specialisation or master's degree. Include their full name, email address, nationality, affiliation and speciality.
  Include the letter of commitment signed by the authors in PDF format. Letter of commitment.

Copyright Notice

The author of this article certifies, by means of the letter of commitment, that all the signatory authors actively participated in its preparation, that they approve of being included as authors, and that they accept the conditions included in this transfer of rights. The author and/or co-authors shall be considered ASSIGNORS and therefore assign, free of charge, all economic rights derived from the article to the journal Archivos de Medicina (Manizales), affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Manizales, (ISSN-L): 1657-320X,  ISSN (online): 2339-3874,

Similarly, the transferors declare that the article is original, of their own creation, and that it has not been previously submitted or simultaneously submitted to any publication other than Archivos de Medicina (Manizales). The transferors declare themselves solely responsible for any action of vindication, plagiarism or other type of claim that may arise.

By virtue of this transfer, the TRANSFEREE is authorised to copy, reproduce, distribute, publish or market the article that is the subject of the transfer by any digital, electronic or reprographic means, while retaining the obligation to respect in all cases the moral rights of the author contained in Article 30 of Law 23 of 1982.
