This research analyzes the relationship between forgiveness capacity and positive mental health among residents of Armenia, Colombia. Using a cross-sectional quantitative approach, a random sample of 139 participants (aged 20-69) was evaluated. Results reveal that 26% of subjects demonstrate high forgiveness capacity, while only 17.3% exhibit robust indicators of positive mental health. Moderately significant associations were identified between forgiveness capacity and specific dimensions of positive mental health, particularly in interpersonal relationship skills and problem-solving abilities. The analysis suggests that individuals with elevated forgiveness capacity show greater probability of experiencing optimal states of mental health. These findings underscore the relevance of incorporating the development of forgiveness capacity as a therapeutic component in clinical interventions and as a facilitating mechanism for social reconciliation processes. The study contributes to understanding positive psychological factors in the context of Colombia's Coffee Growing Region, providing empirical evidence on the interrelationship between forgiveness and psychological well-being in populations exposed to complex social contexts.
