In June 1997 doctors Mario Orozco Hoyos, Horacio Villegas Villegas, Gerardo Echeverry, Octavio Henao Brown, Zamarino Jaramillo Gallego, Hernando Gonzalez Montoya, Hernando Orozco Ospina, Gabriel Arce Londoño, Humberto Serna Acevedo and Oscar Brown Valencia, worried the lack of opportunities for higher education of the Colombian youth and the decline in academic quality of medical schools in the country, in the restaurant of the Hotel Carter, we agreed a series of monthly meetings in order to be structured curriculum academics who could ensure excellent medical training of future professionals going to the latest advances in virtual education and social aspects
