Abstract: Objective: To identify research trends in psychotherapy effectiveness and personality. Method: A scientometric analysis based on citation networks was conducted. Results: Three main trends were identified: 1) research on psychoanalytic and long-term therapies focused on moderating variables of change, such as attachment, level of personality structure, and early adverse experiences; 2) research on specialized therapies for borderline personality disorder, with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) concentrating the largest number of studies, highlighting the importance of addressing emotional dysregulation and evaluating treatment cost-effectiveness; and 3) research focused on therapeutic techniques, particularly the effects of mindfulness on psychological variables and overall well-being.
