Complaints and appeals policy

The journal Tempus Psicológico aims to address and resolve all complaints, claims, and appeals in a prompt, transparent, and constructive manner. Depending on the nature and complexity of the case, submissions shall be formally reviewed by the editorial team and the Editorial Board, with final determinations issued in strict accordance with the core recommendations set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  1. Submission Procedure and Requirements

To formalize a complaint, claim, or suggestion, please note the following guidelines:

  • Submission Channel: Submissions must be sent directly to the journal's official institutional email: revistatempuspsicologico@umanizales.edu.co
  • Clarity and Specificity: The claim must be clear, specific, and contain sufficient objective information to demonstrate a potential breach of the journal's editorial ethics or scientific integrity.
  • Evidence Submissions: Whenever possible, supplementary documentation, digital links, or physical proofs must be attached to support the evaluation of the situation in question.
  1. Investigation Timelines and Due Process
  • All formal communications will receive an official response within a maximum of thirty (30) business days.
  • Depending on the technical complexity of the case, the appellant will be promptly informed if an extension or additional time is required to conclude the internal investigation.
  1. Jurisdiction and Restrictions
  • Out-of-Scope Complaints: Claims that fall outside the academic or scientific scope of the publication—such as personal disputes against authors, reviewers, or members of the editorial team—will receive a formal response clarifying the grounds why the situation falls outside the journal's jurisdiction.
  • Defamatory Submissions: The journal Tempus Psicológico shall refrain from conducting internal investigations or providing responses when complaints, claims, or appeals are presented in an offensive, threatening, or defamatory manner.
