Authors who engage in any form of misconduct in scientific publishing—including plagiarism in its various forms, improper authorship, duplicate or fragmented publication, data fabrication, or data manipulation—will receive a notification from the journal’s editorial board. Cases classified as serious will be reported to the author’s immediate supervisor at their affiliated institution (Reyes, 2022) (María & Díaz, 2018)
- Inappropriate conduct and ethical violations must be reported to the editor and the Editorial Board, along with the corresponding evidence, to enable the initiation of a formal investigation.
- The editor, with the advice of the Editorial Board and the University’s Legal Office, will decide whether to initiate the corresponding investigation.
- Evidence will be gathered, and the process will be completely confidential.
- Violations considered minor may be resolved without further consultation, and the accused will always be allowed to present their defense.
- If the editor, in consultation with the Editorial Board and the University’s Legal Office, deems the violation to be serious, the employer(s) of the accused must be notified following the advisory bodies’ assessment.
