Peer review process

Peer Review Process

  1. Peer Evaluation and Editorial Decision

The Editorial Board of the journal Tempus Psicológico retains the ultimate authority regarding the acceptance or rejection of all submitted manuscripts. This determination is strictly informed by the independent evaluation reports provided by at least two external, double-blind peer reviewers specialized in the manuscript's specific field of expertise. All editorial decisions are formally and promptly communicated to the authors.

In the event of a rejection, the editorial workflow for the manuscript ceases immediately. Upon notification of rejection, any exclusivity agreement or commitment between the authors and the journal regarding the manuscript is automatically terminated, allowing authors to freely submit their research to alternative scientific publications. Conversely, when revision is recommended, the editorial team will provide comprehensive feedback detailing the mandatory or suggested adjustments required to make publication possible. To guarantee scientific integrity, all submitted manuscripts—including those requested for thematic or special issues—must undergo the full double-blind peer-review workflow without exception.

  1. Standard Editorial Timeline and Response Windows

To provide a transparent operation, the journal strictly enforces the following turnaround times for each phase of the evaluation workflow:

  • Phase 1 (Desk Review and Screening): Initial notification regarding compliance with formatting guidelines and anti-plagiarism screening shall be issued within five (5) business days following manuscript receipt.
  • Phase 2 (First Round Peer Review): Notification of the initial evaluation reports from the double-blind reviewers shall be delivered within a maximum of forty-two (42) days from formal acceptance into the arbitrage workflow.
  • Phase 3 (Author Revisions): If peer reviewers request technical adjustments or major revisions, authors are granted a maximum period not exceeding fifteen (15) days to upload their corrected manuscript.
  • Phase 4 (Final Adjudication and Approval): Final notification of formal acceptance for publication is typically completed between twenty-eight (28) and fifty-eight (58) days following the initial submission, depending on the scope of the required revisions.
