The association between suicidal behaviors and belonging to minority groups due to their sexual orientation was determined in students from four Colombian universities. The modified version of the Columbia Suicidal Behavior Severity Rating Scale was applied to 6910 students. Those who are not heterosexual were more likely to present some suicidal behavior, a little more than double the cases of suicidal ideation in the last year than in heterosexualsThe modified version of the Columbia Suicidal Behavior Severity Rating Scale was applied to 6910 students. The attempt tripled the probability in the last year. Knowing that sexual minorities have a higher risk of suicidal behavior is a tool for early prevention and priority in the care of this population.
