The journal Tempus Psicológico systematically verifies the originality of all submitted manuscripts utilizing the institutional software Unicheck, or any text-matching and similarity-detection tools officially provided by the Universidad de Manizales. By submitting a manuscript, authors explicitly agree to undergo this similarity screening to ensure the prevention of plagiarism and to actively foster scholarly and academic integrity.
The Editorial Board shall implement all necessary and reasonable protocols to identify and prevent the publication of manuscripts involving research misconduct, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, data fabrication, or improper citation practices. Any submission found to contain plagiarism or any other form of fraudulent research practice shall be immediately rejected and excluded from the publication workflow. Readers and the scholarly community are formally invited to report any suspected cases of plagiarism directly to the Editor-in-Chief via the official journal email.
Once a potential instance of research misconduct or significant text overlap is identified, the editorial processing of the manuscript shall be suspended immediately. To safeguard due process and protect the rights of the authors, the editorial team will formally notify the corresponding author, granting them a period of ten (10) business days to respond to the allegations and provide a formal explanation.
Following the receipt of the authors' explanations—or in the absence of a response after the designated deadline—the Editor-in-Chief shall issue a final decision regarding the manuscript's status. Authors maintain the right to appeal the Editor-in-Chief's determination directly before the journal's Editorial Board, which serves as the final governing body for dispute resolution.
