Policy on the Use of AI

The Tempus Psicológico Journal recognizes that artificial intelligence tools are part of the contemporary transformations currently shaping the production and circulation of knowledge. Their emergence opens new possibilities for academic work, while also raising ethical, epistemological, and human questions that require careful reflection, especially within the fields of psychology and the human sciences.

In coherence with the journal’s critical, ethical, and humanistic orientation, we consider that no technological tool can replace the intellectual responsibility, clinical sensitivity, contextual interpretation, or ethical commitment involved in researching and writing about human experience. For this reason, the journal allows the responsible and transparent use of artificial intelligence tools only as partial support in specific tasks related to academic writing, revision, or editing.

The use of these tools may be appropriate for supporting processes such as grammar and spelling correction, translation, stylistic revision, preliminary organization of materials, technical assistance in data analysis, or limited editorial support. However, the final content must always be critically reviewed by the authors, who retain full responsibility for the ideas, interpretations, arguments, and conclusions presented in the manuscript.

The journal does not accept texts generated entirely through artificial intelligence and presented as original intellectual production. Likewise, content involving fabricated or manipulated data, nonexistent references, altered results, or any practice that compromises academic and scientific integrity will not be accepted. Artificial intelligence systems may not be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts, since authorship implies ethical responsibility, critical judgment, intellectual positioning, and accountability for the knowledge produced, dimensions that belong exclusively to human experience.

When an artificial intelligence tool has been used significantly during the preparation of a manuscript, this must be explicitly declared by the authors through a brief statement included before the references section.

Regarding editorial and peer-review processes, the journal requests strict preservation of manuscript confidentiality. Therefore, reviewers should not upload complete manuscripts or substantial excerpts to generative AI platforms without explicit authorization from the editorial team. Any use of technological tools within editorial processes must respect the principles of confidentiality, academic integrity, and ethical care of information.

The Tempus Psicológico Journal adopts an open, critical, and reflective stance toward artificial intelligence. We recognize the value of these technologies as support tools, while also affirming that thought, the understanding of human suffering, the construction of meaning, and ethical responsibility cannot be reduced to automated processes. Research in psychology and the human sciences remains, above all, a human encounter with the complexity of life.
