In this paper we review the published research on the mathematical textbooks of the Bicentennial collection of Venezuela. We selected articles that were published in peer-reviewed journals and papers presented at academic events, that were also widely available on the web. The results indicate that the research carried out is fundamentally content analysis, where positive aspects are reported, such as appropriate language for the student, but also negative aspects, such as insufficient activities and math problems, in addition to ideological content to highlight government activities. We considered that there is still room to continue researching about the books in this collection; therefore possible research topics are proposed.
