The search terms were selected based on the question of research and the PICO strategy. Results: Of 3,246 documents, 11 were retained for the study, finding the main results of the review in 4 categories: 1) educational interventions in waste management of health services in hospitals; 2) interventions in pharmaceutical waste management; 3) interaction activities with the local community and; 4) educational strategies for the clinical and environmental approach. Conclusions: Environmental educational activities for health personnel in hospitals should be connected with an expansion of professional training in sustainability issues, linking environmental variables with the strategies of health institutions in search of an environmental culture.
