The contribution of the information technologies and communication in general, and Internet in particular, has been multifaceted. This network of computer networks that
share information, entertainment and marketing has become indispensable for the modern man’s life. Internet, mobile phones, consoles and network occupy a fundamental
space in the process of socialization, industrialization, globalization and information, influencing the superior brain faculty: attention, memory, learning, behavior and attitudes,
in positive or negative way. The moderate and prudent use, without excesses, Internet favors with its services and assistance; improper and inappropriate use can
cause mental addiction, dependence, drive or compulsion disorders; dispersion of attention, forgetfulness and difficulty in the assimilation of knowledge. Alterations that
are recognized by the American Psychiatric Association (APA). The most vulnerable population is related to young people and teenagers, who are more likely by video games and entertainment provided by Internet. Prevention strategies are important and the use of social networks to young users and adults imposes a reciprocal responsibility. The parents and teachers of schools and colleges, among others, are essentials
in the process of rehabilitation of young people showing signs of addiction to social networks. Deep psychotherapy is a treatment that is carried out to the people affected by this disease.
