Copyright and intellectual property policy

Authors retain ownership of the copyright and retain their publication rights without restrictions.

By accepting the publication of their article, authors grant the journal Archivos de Medicina (Manizales) and the University of Manizales a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide publication license. This license authorizes the journal to publish the article for the first time and to reproduce, distribute, publicly communicate, preserve, and make it available in print and electronic media, as well as to include it in databases, repositories, indexes, and digital preservation systems.

This authorization does not imply the assignment or transfer of economic copyright to the journal or to the University of Manizales. Authors may enter into other non-exclusive agreements to distribute or publish the published version of the article—for example, by depositing it in institutional repositories or including it in books or other works—provided that it is clearly acknowledged that the article was first published in the journal Archivos de Medicina (Manizales), including its bibliographic reference and DOI.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license. This license allows readers to copy and redistribute the article in any medium or format, provided they give appropriate credit, do not use it for commercial purposes, and do not distribute modified versions. The full text of the license can be found at Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.

The Creative Commons license governs the uses made by readers and third parties; it does not restrict the rights of the authors as copyright holders.

The authors’ moral rights will be respected in accordance with Article 30 of Law 23 of 1982 and other applicable regulations.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the copyright for each article belongs to its authors.
