The meaning of life is a growing concept in recent years. Among the multiple meanings it presents, purpose is the one that has shown the greatest interest to a greater extent. Understanding that the professional level is a substantial part of the vital exercise of people, this article analyzes if the scientific production related to the field of knowledge of the company and business, attends to this aspect. For this, an analytical-descriptive retrospective cohort study is carried out from a systematic search in the SCOPUS database. The variables of the study are the Anglo-Saxon meanings of the concept of meaning of life and purpose of life, the type of publication (article) and the range of years between 2000 and 2023.The results show that, since the beginning of the century , the volume of publications on the subject has increased progressively, also in scientific publications related to the business field. These findings highlight the need for the world of work, and therefore companies, to continue paying attention to this personal aspect in order to improve the professional development of their employees.
