During 2014, a revolutionary program called Last Week Tonight with John Oliver premiered on the pay television service. With the bases of political satire that demands from the audience an interest in history, philosophy, political science, anthropology and sociology, the host of the program, Mr. John Oliver, launched to provide a note of irreverence about what is happening in the world and how many problems, sadness, jokes and nonsenses happen every day on this planet. Since then, Oliver and his team have become a critical breath in the face of the insolence of many of the social institutions and the evils that afflict countries, governments and individuals who do not understand their transformations or those of others. This text arises from the research of the signals that John Oliver gave about Latin America in that first year of his television program.
