This reflection article explores the relationship between the mean- ing of life and education, emphasising the need for a pedagogy that transcends the mere transmission of knowledge and focuses on human fulfilment. It starts from the observation that the contemporary cultural crisis, marked by fragmentation and the loss of shared horizons, demands a profound pedagogical reflection on the aims of education. Through a hermeneutic analysis of the main contributions of various authors, it argues that educating means accompanying people in their search for meanings that integrate reason, affectivity and ethical commitment. The text argues that education must explic- itly assume its existential dimension, promoting spaces for dialogue, self-knowledge and openness to a plurality of worldviews. It concludes that the pedagogy of meaning is now an unavoidable requirement for ensuring the comprehensive education of new generations.
