This writing aims to show the relationship that exists between ordinary language and literary language in the light of linguistic pragmatics, with the aim of illustrating, through examples, which statements of authors in the field of pragmatics, could pay special attention to the information this relationship might have thrown in rather than criticizing it. In the light of Pratt Towards' work a speech act theory of literary discourse (1980), a path is discovered from which linguistics can be redirected to literature, applying the pragmatic theories of the study of language. In this work, Pratt relies on theorists such as Austin, Searle, Grice and even Labov to form the pillars of what would be a Theory of the speech acts of literary discourse and thus, further open the field of pragmaliterature with a focus much broader. Thus, in this article, in a literary work in this case Dostoevsky's White Nights, the concepts and theories that Pratt collects in his work will be applied to show the plausibility of his proposal.
