Editorial ethics policy

The journal Lúmina adopts as its guiding principles the best editorial practices promoted by COPE and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, formulated by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME, to inform its editorial management processes, peer review, transparency, scientific integrity, authorship, conflicts of interest, corrections, retractions, and prevention of malpractice in academic publishing (Committee on Publication Ethics [COPE], n.d.; COPE et al., 2022).

Regarding research integrity, the journal adheres to the principles of honesty, responsibility, transparency, respect for participants, and careful handling of information, in accordance with the Singapore Declaration on Research Integrity and the Research Ethics, Bioethics, and Scientific Integrity Policy adopted in Colombia through Resolution 0314 of 2018 (Colciencias, 2018; World Conference on Research Integrity [WCRI], 2010).

When manuscripts involve information obtained from individuals, communities, or organizations through interviews, surveys, observation, focus groups, case studies, or other research techniques, authors must guarantee informed consent where applicable, confidentiality of information, protection of personal data, and approval from an institutional ethics committee when the nature of the study requires it. In Colombia, the processing of personal data must comply with Statutory Law 1581 of 2012 and its implementing regulations.
