In this article, an educational experience is presented based on the skills and competences model developed in one of the subjects of the disciplinary component of the syllabus of the program in the Business Administration program of the University of Manizales; for which it counts on the direct participation of the teacher in the orientation of the class, a teacher researcher as observer of the process and the students of the course. Likewise, there is a transformation of the roles in the classroom of both the students and the teacher, in order to promote autonomy, participation, leadership, teamwork and some general skills of the professionals and specific to the discipline based on the Alfa Tuning Latin America Project focused on Educational and Social Innovation (2011-2013).

Therefore, it is invited to reflect from the teaching experience, as through the model for skills and competences is achieved to develop innovative pedagogical strategies to achieve a change in practical experience and a better way to evaluate academic performance in the teaching process -learning of students. This finding justifies the research in terms of achieving better results in the training of students, not only at the academic level, but also in the other spheres of human development.
