This article offers an analysis of the film The Road by Australian director John Hillcoat as an atypical Road Movie not only because of its post-apocalyptic context, but also because of the almost total absence of vehicles. His analysis emphasizes the human condition in a crude way. The trip is no longer initiatory, nor is it back home. It is a forced displacement for survival.
