Responsibilities of Escribanía
- To apply the editorial policy, in the first instance, through an agile review of articles by the Editorial Committee to verify compliance with commitments. In other words, to carry out a first screening to guarantee the minimum quality and relevance criteria for Escribanía before proceeding to blind peer review.
- To publicize the call for papers for each issue of the journal through mass communication media.
- To select peer reviewers and send them the articles along with the corresponding evaluation form.
- To inform authors of the status of their article.
- To inform authors of evaluation results by sending them the reviewers’ reports. In the case of approval with modifications, to return the article and request prompt correction.
- Once the article is approved, to request that authors complete the publication authorization letter.
- To address ethical complaints and proceed reasonably in order to provide authors the opportunity to make the corresponding clarifications. To handle all claims promptly and fairly.
- To publish articles strictly according to: thematic relevance, academic evaluation by peer reviewers, and compliance by authors with the journal’s requirements.
- To publish within the deadlines and conditions established in each call for papers.
Responsibilities of Authors
- To submit their work in accordance with the Journal’s guidelines and provide an unpublished text or, where applicable, authorization from the journal in which it was previously published, either totally or partially.
- To adhere to ethical criteria in order to respect copyright and avoid conflicts of interest regarding the information and findings presented.
- To follow scientific publication standards in order to clearly reference and differentiate, within the text, their own ideas from those of the authors consulted; that is, material taken literally or contextually (direct and indirect citations). Every chart, figure, or table must indicate whether it is of “own creation/elaboration” or taken from another author (with the corresponding reference placed in the footnote).
- Not to submit the article simultaneously to another journal, as doing so will result in suspension of the process by Escribanía.
- To comply with Escribanía procedures and respond promptly to the Editor regarding any requests or clarifications related to publication.
- To submit in a timely manner the data required by the journal, such as ORCID information.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- To respond promptly to the Editor regarding their commitment to serve as a peer reviewer.
- To provide critical and constructive judgment regarding the articles and their viability for publication according to the Journal’s evaluation criteria. To indicate reasons for approving or rejecting the texts and, in the case of approval, to provide clear guidance for improving the article.
- To commit to evaluating only articles that fall within their area of competence and expertise based on their experience and knowledge in the requested field.
- To declare the existence of any conflict of interest regarding the article under review (and, if necessary, withdraw from the review process).
- To review texts objectively and contribute to meeting delivery deadlines.
- To inform the Editor of any indication of plagiarism or duplicate publication.
