Identification of the level of ICT competences in teachers of public institutions

The article presents the results of the first phase of a project aimed at generating sustainable development through the incorporation of ICT, in a Colombian municipality, corresponding to the identification of the level of ICT skills of teachers of basic, vocational media and complementary training they work in seven official urban institutions and one rural one. The results serve
as input for the Municipal Education Secretariat to evaluate, strengthen and / or rethink the teacher training programs. The study is a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional descriptive approach, using as a data collection instrument, a digital survey of a sample of 381 teachers from a population of
456 teachers. The results show that teachers are at the level of Exploration (Basic) of technological competencies, established by the Ministry of National Education, while 38% of teachers located at the level of Integration, has a relationship with their postgraduate studies or self-learning.
