This paper aims at stating a series of epistemological problems in the prevailing paradigm in economics and questionable practices in the classroom that difficult the consolidation of independent thinking in the students. The ambition of economics of becoming the hardest social science, the pervasive use of mathematical methods, the crisis of pertinence, realism and coherence, the abuse of the resource to the ceteris paribus, the excessive use of manuals and the world tendencies to homogenize, make difficult to contribute to the process of construction of alternative solutions to the concrete problems of economics. We want to foster the debate in the colleges of economics, with the purpose of consolidating such a process.
