Study of the use of ICT in the community of Alto Magdalena

Estudio del uso de las TIC en la comunidad del Alto Magdalena

This article presents the preliminary results of a research project oriented to understand and characterize the practices that perform different population groups particularly the general community (housewives, unemployed, elderly among others), against the use and appropriation of ICT. For this inquiry qualitative used by open interview, about connectivity, frequent access locations and routines using technology and statistical information from Puntos Vive Digital of Girardot and Ricaurte (Cundinamarca, Colombia) regarding the use of these centers. This allowed us to understand that the relationship between use and technological appropriation that this population demand are demarcated by a low digital inclusion due to the lack of greater coverage and access, which takes us away from a true technological appropriation, despite efforts state policies have in their different programs offered to the population.
