The exploration in a group of students of new entrance to the university and another one made up of young people who collaborate in the Academic Body (CA) Innovative Environments of Learning (ENINA), has allowed identifying the knowledge that on methods of the social sciences and the humanities they have these students. This exercise was of an exploratory nature and next to diagnostic test in which 82 students participated: 62 new entrants and 18 advanced periods, to whom an online form composed of four dimension was applied, which responded to important variables related to knowledge and skills related to the investigation; which allowed the design of an agenda for those who study experiences related to the research methodology in social sciences and humanities, as well as for those who participate in the CA research program mentioned above. The text interest is to analyze the role that research plays as a trainer and forger of skills and disciplinary knowledge.
