Among the numerous industrial processes that happen in the companies of the nickel, it is important the study of the drying of lateritic mineral in horizontal rotational cylinders; in the which they are becoming several modifications, for what is necessary to work in global solutions so that the companies improve their automation level. For these reasons, the present investigation was carried out in the you development a computer application that automates the mathematical models that intervene in the drying process settled down by the experimental studies in the region of Moa, allowing that the calculation of drying of the mineral is speeded up and motivate investigators of the matter to develop better techniques for the use of the drying. Tools of free software and the methodology of software development RUP were used. Besides was carried out a study of feasibility and sustainable on the system, with tangible and intangible benefits that allow to make an analysis of the costs of the development of this system throwing that the project is useful so that the entity achieves its objectives.
