LÚMINA Journal Responsibilities

1. The commitments that Lúmina acquires upon receiving an article submitted via the Open Journal System platform include providing due process, in accordance with editorial policy. This, firstly, consists of immediate verification that the investigation presented for publication complies with the minimum quality criteria contained in the author guidelines, and assessment of topic pertinence by the editorial committee. If that first filter is passed positively, the editor assigns two reviewers to perform a double-blind evaluation. Said evaluators will issue final concepts, together with the respective observations, recommendations and/or proposals, and the evaluation document is returned to the author(s). Once this process has been completed, when necessary, the author(s) complement(s) and/or modif(y)ies their article, in accordance with the previously given evaluator instructions, and sends it back to the journal. Finally, publication is scheduled for those articles which have received favorable concepts and those who agreed to make corrections, so as to subsequently culminate the process with journal publication.

2. It is the responsibility of Lúmina to communicate the status of the submitted article to the author(s), as well as that of the concepts emitted by assigned reviewers and editorial committee decisions regarding the relevance and/or publication of the article. This communication process will take place via the Open Journal System platform, by means of which proper notification of the following will be sent to the email provided by the author(s): a) Reception of the article. b) Verification of compliance with all journal editorial policies. c) Results of the evaluation process by assigned peers. d) Article acceptance for publication, with or without corrections, or negation of article publication in Lúmina.

3. Article publication will depend exclusively upon: a) The affinity, clarity, and contribution of the text to journal topics. b) Strict author compliance with requirements established by the journal, that only unpublished works will be accepted. c) Academic evaluation on the part of subject specialists d) The integration of observations and changes required by the specialist reviewers.

4. Editorial decisions will not be affected by the nationality, ethnicity, emotional or blood ties, political, economic, social, or religious position(s) of the author(s).

5. Lúmina journal commits to fully comply with the process established by the editorial committee, in order to ensure a transparent publication which is free of conflicts of interest, and which centers on respect for its authors. 6. Lúmina journal is responsible for publishing the journal at the times and in the forms established by the call for papers. 7. In coherence with policies that promote open and free access to knowledge, in order to publish and/or access Lúmina (virtually), the journal does not require any kind of economic contribution.

Author responsibilities

1. The author(s) commit(s) to send an original research. Any submitted text which has been previously published in another journal, or even in another language, will be rejected. A study will be considered to have been previously published upon occurrence of any of the following situations: a) When the full text has been published. b) When extensive fragments of previously published materials form part of the text submitted to the journal, and are not correctly referenced. c) These criteria refer to previous publications in printed or electronic form, in any language.

2. It is the responsibility of the author to avoid any conflict of interest in the publication of data and results.

3. The author(s) should cite and clearly refer to any fragment that is taken textually or contextually from the work of other authors or from their own texts. This includes references to data sources, tables, figures, and documents.

4. The author(s) should not send their article to any other publication during the Lúmina journal evaluation process. If this behavior is detected, the review or publishing process, for the corresponding text, will be suspended.

5. The author(s) accept(s) and adhere(s) to the editorial rules, criteria, and procedures of

Lúmina Reviewer responsibilities

1. Reviewers express their opinion of whether or not to publish an article. If their concept is negative, they must indicate sufficient reasons to support and justify the rejection. In all cases, suggestions should be made for improvement of the text submitted to the journal.

2. Reviewers should only accept texts regarding topics on which they have sufficient expertise, experience, and knowledge to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them.

3. Reviewers shall avoid any conflict of interest identified, in reference to the text that has been sent to them.
