The purpose of this study was to characterize the contribution of didactics in the formation of investigative skills in business administration. Through the case study methodology an empirical space was addressed to a business administration program of a public university in Colombia, within which units of analysis were identified that account for elements of the didactic communicative act that contribute and inhibit investigative competencies. From the approaches of modern didactics the conclusions demonstrate the challenges and perspectives that the formation of administrators have against the construction of knowledge in the discipline.
