Record memory upon arrival of the Furnas Dam and its impacts social through the techniques of documentary and oral history: a account from experience

Registrar la memoria sobre la llegada de la Presa de Furnas y sus impactos sociales a través de las las técnicas de historia documental y oral: un relato a partir de la experiencia

This article is an experience report, in the line of research-creation, which aims to present results, within
the theoretical-methodological approach that relates the techniques of Documentary History and Oral History, with
the aim of recording and preserving memory linked to the impacts of the construction of the Furnas dam in the
southern region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The criteria and procedures adopted respond to the topic, the selection
of sources, the preparation of the pre-routine of the interviews, the audiovisual capture of the speeches, the editing
of the information collected and filmed, and the production of the documentary. Finally, events were organized to return
the information to the protagonists whose stories supported the study and a channel was created with the function of
digital archive of audiovisual stories on the impacts of the construction of the Furnas dam. to sensitize the local
community about the valorization of its historical and cultural heritage. The findings showed the drama of these
communities that felt the loss of territory as the loss of their own cultural identity, given the relationship of
belonging established with the spaces of interaction, where affective memories and experiences that define us as
subjects are also housed. .
